Adela Mede & Štefan Szabó present the concert premiere of their album of Hungarian folk songs, Dalok (out on 42far), exceptionally with a complete ensemble of friends and musicians. Expect a cross-section of the album performed with the full lineup and guest musicians featured on the record. After the concert, the evening continues with free-form entertainment at the bar—live playing, conversation, and hanging out. About the album Adela Mede & Štefan Szabó never intended to record an album. United by their Slovak-Hungarian identity and deep love of folk music, they began meeting to sing together—just sing—nearly every week for about a year. With different musical backgrounds, each brought unique elements to their collaboration. Both arrived with Hungarian folk songs discovered on old vinyl, internet archives, or buried in memory.
