Bratislavské Jazzové Dni 2026 (Day 3)

The closing night of Bratislava Jazz Days. The American vibraphonist Joel Ross opens with his band Good Vibes. Blue Note released his fifth album, Gospel Music, this year. He plays with two mallets rather than four so as not to crowd the harmony, and his band deliberately does not hold a single common metre — an approach taken from Miles Davis's Second Great Quintet. The headliner is the French trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf with Trumpets of Michel Ange, playing Bratislava for the first time. Seventeen albums, two Grammy nominations, work with Sting, Quincy Jones and Gregory Porter; eleven musicians on stage. Mattia Müller Laser Sights completes the night.
