Educational psychologist Kamila Urban explores how to develop reading literacy directly in the classroom. She'll demonstrate how students can learn to think about their own reading, continuously check their comprehension, and apply effective strategies when searching for specific information. But what's the point of reading if we can't use what we've learned? We read to discover something new, understand unfamiliar situations, or solve problems beyond our current knowledge. The lecture will therefore show the next crucial step: whether students can transfer knowledge from texts to new situations, explain problem causes, evaluate possible solutions, and propose their own approach. ___________________________________________________ Doc.
