Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 May 2026

TWIBL is a small, independent weekly listing of Bratislava nightlife events. We do not run ads, sell data, or use third-party marketing or analytics trackers. This page explains what we store, why, and how long.

1 — Who runs this site

TWIBL is operated by an individual based in Bratislava, Slovakia. For any privacy-related question, write to contact@twibl.buzz.

2 — Data stored in your browser

When you click the small × on an event to hide it, we save its ID in your browser's localStorage under the key twibl_hidden_events_v1. This is purely a convenience so the events stay hidden next time you visit — the data never leaves your device and we cannot read it.

To remove it: click reveal hidden in the control bar, or clear your browser's site data for twibl.buzz.

3 — Visit statistics on our server

To understand how many people use the site, our server records one row per visit and per event click. Each row contains:

We deduplicate by IP per day — repeat visits on the same day are not re-counted. We never combine this data with any other source, never share it, and never use it for advertising or profiling. The legal basis is legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) for operating and improving a free public service.

Retention: visit logs are kept up to 24 months and then removed.

4 — Cookies

The public site sets no cookies. The admin area (not accessible to visitors) uses a single session cookie for login. Both this cookie and the localStorage entry above are strictly necessary for a function you explicitly request, so no consent banner is required under the EU ePrivacy Directive and Slovak Act 452/2021.

5 — Third parties

We load the JetBrains Mono web font from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com). Google may log the request as part of its standard operation. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, ad networks, or any social media trackers.

Event links may point to external sites (Instagram, venue pages, ticket shops). Those sites have their own privacy policies.

6 — Your rights

Under GDPR you can ask us to access, correct or delete the data we hold about you, or to restrict its processing. Because we only store IP + user-agent + referrer with no account, identification usually requires you to tell us the approximate date(s) and IP you visited from. Write to contact@twibl.buzz.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Slovak data protection authority, Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov SR.

7 — Changes

If we change anything material, the "Last updated" date at the top will change. Substantive changes will be announced on the homepage for at least one week.
